About

When I was a kid most people only had one job for life. I have been fortunate to have had many varied ones by choice. Now retired, I am still not finished choosing to go down many new paths; this site illustrates one of them.

Let me tell you a story: When I was a late teen, I had a Uni professor taking one of my classes who was as old as Methuselah, and then some. He had a story for us about himself and it has always inspired me. He worked as a general hand and started Uni at 59 years of age; yes 59. He went on to get his degree, masters and then later a doctorate by 69. Now most people at that age stop but not him. He went out and talked himself into a job for a couple of years and then started his own consultancy. At 75 he became a lecturer at his local Uni, then Assoc. Professor and finally Professor at 82. He came to teach us at 84 years of age and, he was still doing his consultancy on the side.

His parting words to us when the term was over: “It doesn’t matter whether you are here studying at University, an artist, a hairdresser, working as a general laborer or just stuck at home. It doesn’t matter what others think or say, it’s only their opinion. It’s who you are that matters. You must aim “high” in your endeavors. If you only hit “low” it doesn’t matter, you tried and there are still so many, many other things to try for. Be brave and take that leap when it presents itself. You may not have the “bent” for it, and luck and God may say, ‘No it’s not for you’, but how will you know if you don’t try.”

From my younger days, my love of Engineering, Science and Art has never left me. So now, I am putting together this site. Only talent, experience, luck and God will see if I eventually move from “low’ to “high” but I’m going to try. Life can suck the fun out of things with all of it’s constraints but here I have the freedom to say, “Who cares, I like what I do”, do you?  But then, it’s only your opinion.

P.S.
In keeping with the pixelated look of voxels, I have drawn on the style of what was around on the late ninety’s “show/demo” CD and rolled it up with this, today’s responsive website design. This site will grow slowly so why not check in every now and then to see how things progress.
